Donations

A donation is a quick and effective way to help researchers or supporting organisations directly. No donation is too small (or too big…): donate what you can, if and when you can. The following is a short list of organisations you can donate to.

For a few years now, the Life Extension Advocacy Foundation has been the engine room of the global crusade against ageing. Made by volunteers like me (and hopefully soon, you too!), its goal is creating and mobilising a cohesive social force to change the public perception of ageing from a fact of life to public enemy number one. Donations to LEAF are used to finance events, educational material, new initiatives, and more.

lifespan Lifespan.io is LEAF’s crowdfunding platform. Lifespan.io periodically runs crowdfunding campaigns to collect money for research projects against ageing, such as OncoSENS Ctrl ALT, Delete Cancer, or MMTP. Thanks to initiatives like Lifespan.io, anyone can safely make their donations through the Internet. University research groups and startups can submit their project to LEAF’s scientific advisory board; if they’ll deem it relevant to the fight against ageing, odds are there will be a crowdfunding project for it under the #CrowdfundTheCure hashtag. 🙂

sens SENS Research Foundation focuses on biomedical research against ageing both intramurally and extramurally, financing research in universities and labs around the world. SENS publish their reports annually, so you can have a look and see that your money was well spent.

methuselah foundation Methuselah Foundation could be considered the mother of SENS, as the latter was born from it in 2009. Methuselah doesn’t conduct research on its own, but it finances important projects that may be of use in the fight against ageing, such as the recent NASA collaboration to create functional vascular tissue in a lab.

If you’re an Amazon customer, you can donate to SENS, Methuselah, or LEAF, every time you buy on Amazon thanks to their Amazon Smile initiative. Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase price to a non-profit of your choice at no extra cost to you. All you need is an Amazon account, activate the option, and choose your charity.

I would also like to remind you that you can become a regular LEAF patron thanks to the recurring crowdfunding campaign Lifespan Heroes. The purpose of this campaign is to let LEAF have a monthly budget of their own, even a modest one, with which they can finance all necessary activities. If you join this campaign, you will donate an amount of your choice to LEAF monthly. Depending on your contribution, you will be entitled to one of the rewards mentioned on the campaign page. Of course you can opt out any time for any reason, if you so wish.

Thanks for your contribution! Your future health and that of the entire world owe you one! 🙂
